Kingsthorpe State School has a Specialist Music teacher onsite on Monday. The curriculum program involves singing, playing the recorder, music appreciation and reading music. Each class from Prep to Year 6 attends a music lesson each week.
CHOIR
The school has choir practice weekly and students also have the opportunity to attend the Dalby Eistedfod and participate in regional events like "Sing Out". Our choir will often perform at school events like "Anzac Day" and our annual "Awards Presentation".
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Students from years four, five and six have the opportunity to be involved in the Instrumental Music Program. Students attend lessons in school time on a Friday.
Students participating in our program or in performance ensembles (and their parents) are asked to make a firm commitment to attend practices and performances for each specific group.
